  • make plans
  • problem solve
  • take responsibility
  • experience success

History

We were established in the spring of 1986 as a private, non-profit organization to serve child care needs in York Region. Beginning with a licensed Home Child Care service, we have expanded into other areas and developed additional Centre programs and community resources in response to the needs of families for both choice and quality in the education and care of their children.

Governance

The Agency is governed by an experienced Board of Directors, people drawn from the business and professional community who are interested in and concerned with quality services. They are committed to serving the community by taking on responsibility for the operation of York Professional Care and Education and they are accountable for its standards and viability. They also ensure that organizational goals are clearly set forth and attained. The founding Executive Director continues to provide strong leadership for the organization.

Community Affilations

We are part of the Character Community of York Region, associated with the Future Aces Foundation, and a partner with the York Region Board of Education in the delivery of the Roots of Empathy program.  We host an annual Golf Tournament to raise money to send needy children from Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Girls Inc. and Children’s Aid Society to summer camp.
